Aloha, Jason Molina
March 20, 2013
Our old friend Jason Molina passed away on March 16, 2013 at age 39. As a songwriter he was irreproachable, shifting so much country, heavy metal and rust belt culture into wrenching psalms. Sometimes that passion nearly toppled the fragile chords and everyone around. Family Vineyard wouldn't exist without Jason. His debut, the 1996 7-inch Nor Cease Thou Never Now..., literally began a toppling of dominoes that changed the lives of so many in Bloomington, Indiana and throughout the world. It lead to Secretly Canadian's start and later FV. All of that, and countless more, started from a single song.
All of Jason's music is streaming at bancamp now. Memorial gifts to Jason’s medical fund can be made via PayPal.

Magnetic South at SXSW
March 11, 2013
If you are in Austin this week, there is one stop you gotta make: Schmaltz. Yes, this is the best vegan food truck in the city but it's also ground zero for a Magnetic South Revue. Our dear pals from Southern Indiana are back in the mess that is SXSW for some unofficial shenanigans, mostly spear-headed by Apache Dropout and Thee Open Sex. On Thursday they will take over the area of 913 E Cesar Chavez from 1 to 6 p.m. Also on this Hoosier bill: Thee Tsunamis, Crys, Vacation Club and our cousins from Knoxville, the Psychic Baos. Eat a couple seitan reubans and hi-five the Tsunamis for us since we can't make it this year.
